If you are wondering what you should feed your family on game day, I’ve got you covered! It can be challenging to prepare food for your family on any special occasion. Luckily, I have gathered some simple but delicious recipes that are sure to be a crowd pleaser.

5 Easy Recipes For Families on Game Day:


I know just how hard it can be to cook for your family, especially your kids. The following recipes are the perfect addition to any family gathering on game day!


1. Smoked Queso


This first recipe I’ll talk about is a fun and easy game day recipe. My family loves a good cheese dip and I can tell you that your family will go crazy for this smoked queso!


Ingredients:

  • 2 lb Velveeta cheese (make sure its cubed)

  • 2 lb sausage

  • 1 bag shredded Mexican cheese

  • 2 cans diced tomatoes and green chiles

  • 1 cup jalapeño

  • 2 Tbsp garlic minced

  • 2 Tbsp onion flakes minced

  • ½ cup milk

Recipe:


Step 1: Get an aluminum baking container and put all your ingredients into it.


Step 2: Fire your grill up and pull all the coals on the grill.


Step 3: Then place the aluminum pan into the grill. It should be near the coals but not on them.


Step 4: Cook your dip for thirty to forty minutes. Add in your milk as your dip cooks.


Step 5: Take the queso out and serve it with your favorite chips and veggies.



2. Sheet Pan Nachos


Sheet pan nachos are loaded with flavor and can help satisfy any family's appetite. On game day, you definitely want to try out this simple but filling game day recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 medium onion

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1 teaspoon coriander

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1 bag tortilla chips

  • 1 bell pepper, cored, halved, and chopped

  • 1 can black beans

  • 1 cup frozen corn

  • 1 can of black olives sliced (optional)

  • 1 1/2 cups of your cheese of choice

  • 1 cup of avocado (optional)

  • ⅓ cup of sour cream

  • Jalapenos (optional)

  • 1 tomato diced

Recipe:


Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Then start cooking your chopped onions and your meat in a pan.


Step 2: Add your oil, salt, chili powder, oregano, and other seasonings to the beef. Cook until the meat is fully brown.


Step 3: Get your pan ready and put your tortilla chips on it. Put a big layer down, then place the cooked beef on top.


Step 4: Add any toppings you want like corn, cheese, peppers, and black olives. Then bake your nachos for at least seven to eight minutes.


Step 5: Take it out of the oven and put and other garnishes and toppings, this includes the avocado, your tomato, and jalapeno. You can also add sour cream.



3. Baked Spinach Dip


If your family isn’t into queso, try out this easy spinach dip recipe I found. There isn’t a lot you have to do for this quick game-day recipe.


Ingredients:

  • 8 ounces cream cheese

  • 1 cup sour cream

  • 10 ounces of spinach

  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese (grated)

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley

  • Bread or chips for dipping

Recipe:


Step 1: First cook your raw spinach leaves. Put them in a pan with cooking spray. When the leaves are cooked chop them up. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.


Step 2: In a baking dish, put in all the other ingredients listed above. Your garlic, spinach, sour cream, salt, cheese, and other necessary ingredients should all be mixed in.


Step 3: Stir and combine, then add a little extra mozzarella to the top of your dish.


Step 4: Bake for twenty minutes or till the top is brown. Then take out your dip and serve it. You can sprinkle parsley if you want on top.


4. Smoked Chicken Wings


Chicken wings are a must-have food item for any game day celebration, and my kids love them! These smoked wings are savory, delicious, and not too hard to make.


Ingredients:

  • 6 pounds of chicken

  • 2 Tablespoon olive oil

  • 2 Tablespoons chili powder

  • 2 Tablespoons smoked paprika

  • 1 teaspoon cumin

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 2 teaspoons salt

  • 3 teaspoons fresh ground pepper

  • 1 teaspoon cayenne

Recipe:


Step 1: Prepare your chicken, and break them up into drums and wings.


Step 2: Dry the wings then start making your rub. Mix all the ingredients above to create the rub.


Step 3: Get a plastic bag or container. Put the wings in and apply the rub.


Step 4: Keep the chicken soaked in the rub for an hour.


Step 5: Turn on your grill or smoking device. The temperature should be around 250 degrees Fahrenheit.


Step 6: Put your wings on the grill for two hours. Don’t put them on direct heat and watch them so they don’t burn.


Step 7: Put the wings on direct heat for a few minutes to crisp them up. Then put them on a plate and serve them.


5. Brookies


Finish your game day off with a sweet treat. My family and I love having something dessert after a hearty meal. Brookies are the perfect snack to eat after having wings and nachos! This easy game day recipe is quick, tasty, and kid-friendly. Your family is sure to devour this baked good fast!


Ingredients:


For The Brownie Batter

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • ¾ cup semisweet chocolate chips

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ½ teaspoon salt

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

For The Cookie Batter

  • 1/2 cup butter

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 large egg

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Recipe:


Step 1: To create this perfect combination of cookies and brownies, start by making your brownie dough.


Step 2: Melt the butter and put in your cacao powder. Then begin whisking in your sugar, eggs, salt, and vanilla.


Step 3: Add the flour in slowly, then put in your chocolate chips. When the mixture is completed, put it in your greased baking dish.


Step 4: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Then make your cookie dough. Mix your butter with sugar till it is fluffy.


Step 5: Put in your eggs and vanilla extract and mix them in. Add and mix the baking soda and powder. Combine the chocolate chips.


Step 6: When your dough is ready put it in the baking dish with the brownies. Drop the cookie dough into the brownie dish. Some brownies should still be peaking out.


Step 7: Put your mixture into the oven for about 25 minutes. Take it out then let it cool.
