Baby Registry Must Haves: What You Need For Your Baby Registry in 2023

Making your own baby registry can be overwhelming and stressful, especially with so many baby products on the market! I had a lot of trouble finding the perfect must-have items for my registry the first time I was pregnant. Even now, I feel like I’m starting over with there being so many new must have items on the market now. Now, you don’t have to add to the stress of motherhood by scrolling through endless numbers of web pages and blogs for the best baby products to put on your registry.

I’ve compiled a simple list of some of my baby registry must-haves. This blog will simplify the process of creating your baby registry and I’ll even link my own registry here. This way you can relax and prepare for what really matters most!

2023 Must-Have Baby Registry Items:

1. Nosefrida

The first item I recommend putting on your registry is the Nosefrida. This was a life saver for my son when he was a baby. This item is created by doctors and helps moms clear their baby’s noses and get rid of snot fast! During the winter months and cold and flu season, this is one of the most useful items to have!

2. Diapers

Diapers are an obvious must-have baby item. Don’t forget to put them on your registry. You can never have enough diapers around your house, especially when your baby is born. So, let your family and friends know that you need this!

3. Carseat-Stroller Combo

Hybrid strollers are super convenient. Not only will they make your life easier, but you can get in and out of your house a lot faster. In particular, I recommend going with a car seat stroller combo. This type of stroller can smoothly be changed from a car seat into a stroller. Chicco and Doona car seat strollers offer some of the best quality products.

4. Pack n Play

Being a mom isn’t easy! Thankfully, there are a lot of amazing baby products that can reduce your stress levels, and make motherhood a little more manageable. A pack n play is one example of this. This is one item that we couldn’t live without. These are used as portable safe play spaces for kids. You can also use them as a changing station, bassinet, or travel crib too. The Maxi Cosi Swift Playard and Dockatot are two options I suggest looking into.

5. The Shusher

Let’s be real, while we want to be there for our baby at every second, this isn’t always realistic. That’s why I suggest getting a baby shusher. This small portable machine helps soothe your baby's cries with a human voice. It makes a peaceful shushing sound when your baby starts crying at night or during nap time. This is a great product for fussy babies that have a hard time sleeping alone.

6. First Aid Kit

You can never be too safe. While you never want your kids to get hurt, chances are they will get scrapes and cuts at some point. It’s best to be prepared with a fully stocked first aid kit! Trust me, it will come in handy when you least expect it!

7. Baby Carrier

Another must-have product is a baby carrier. Holding your baby in your arms gets tiring fast. Moms need a rest for their arms, especially if they are walking around town or out doing errands. I suggest getting a baby carrier from either Colugo or Boba. Both brands have sturdy and comfortable baby carrier products!

8. Onesies

Babies look adorable in onesies but this clothing item also has a lot of different uses. They keep your baby entirely covered and warm. Onesies are also easier to slip on and off babies while you change them. I suggest getting plenty of these in different styles, colors, and even sizes because your baby will grow fast!

9. Bottles

Baby bottles are essential for any mother. You want a safe toxin-free bottle that will last for a long time and keep your little one happy. I tried other brands of bottles after my second son was born and I must admit that for me, nothing compared to Dr. Brown bottles. They help to keep milk more nutritious, and they vent any liquid inside to keep bubbles out of your baby’s milk. I highly recommend this item for your baby registry!

10. Sleep Sacks

Keeping your baby comfortable at night can be a challenge. While most moms decide to swaddle their newborn, you can make this task a little more simple with a sleep sack. Sleep sacks help regulate body temperature and keep them nice and cozy throughout the night! Plus, you don’t need to use tons of blankets in your baby’s crib anymore with one of these. Personally, I like the MORI Front Opening Sleepsack 1.5 Tog.

11. Breast Pump

Manually pumping breast milk all the time can be hard work! To make this task a little easier you can get a breast pump. Especially if you have a lot of excess milk (like I do), this can be one of the best items for new moms! Some breast pump products I recommend looking into are the Spectra-Synergy Gold Double Adjustable Electric Breast Pump and the Motif Medical Luna Double Electric Breast Pump.

12. Nipple Cream

After your baby drinks your milk, you might start to notice cracks and dryness around your nipples. If you are breastfeeding a lot, you’ll need some nipple cream. Mothers Love Breastfeeding Nipple Cream is one of my favorite nipple creams. It smells great, is organic, and is totally safe to use around your newborn!

13. Breast Milk Bags

Moms will need breast milk storage bags for their extra milk. Especially if you plan on storing your breast milk in the fridge or freezer. I like the Spectra Simple Store Breastmilk Storage Bags and the Lanisoh Breastmilk Storage Bags. They can get a little pricey but they both are leakproof, durable, and a really high-quality baby product overall!

14. Diaper Pail

No one wants to deal with dirty diapers! Luckily, this next baby product will make it easy to get rid of diapers and keep bad diaper odors from spreading in your home! Diaper pails are trash cans specifically made for your baby’s diapers, and are a great investment for new parents! My favorite diaper pails are the Ubbi Diaper Pail and the Diaper Genie.

15. Gift Cards

Finally, if you can’t think of anything else to put on your baby registry, add a gift card to your list. This isn’t the most original idea, but having extra money to spend at stores like Target, Walmart, and Amazon can really help you out! Baby supplies get expensive fast and having a gift card to buy what you need will be useful.

Final Thoughts on Baby Registry Must Haves

As a mother, you want to be fully prepared when you bring your baby home from the hospital. Creating a great baby registry with everything you need is the best way to do this! While there are tons of things you can put on your registry, I’ve listed all the essentials that you will need in my registry suggestion list. So, if you found my list helpful in any way, feel free to share it with your friends, family, and other mothers you know!
