What Do Moms Really Want For Mother’s Day 2023?

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, you want to be prepared to impress the mom’s in your life. Whether you are shopping for your own mother or want to help your kids find an amazing gift for Mother’s Day this year, I’m here to help.

I know just how difficult it can be to find that perfect Mother's Day gift, especially when it comes to finding a gift that really means something to someone you care about so much.

As a mom, we do so much. We are personal heroes and some of the hardest-working people in the world. We want to feel appreciated on this special day! You can help make this Mother’s Day special by trying out my gift ideas.

8 Mother’s Day Gifts Moms Actually Want This Year:

1. Fully Paid Spa Day

Who doesn’t love a good spa day? For Mother’s Day, this can be an amazing gift for us that need time to relax. A fully paid spa day can get expensive, but it's worth the price if you can make mothers happy and help us unwind!

If you are on a budget, though, consider doing a DIY spa day in your home. This can be just as relaxing. You can have someone babysit your kids. Then look up DIY spa ideas and get ready to pamper and help the mom in your life have a stress-free day.

2. A Day to Ourselves

We don’t get a lot of alone time. I can attest to this as I’m running around all day trying to get my kids ready for school, taking them to after-school activities, preparing meals, and doing other things around the house. That’s why I highly suggest giving moms a day to themselves. Give them the chance to get out of the house and have some freedom for once. You can take on any responsibilities for the day.

To make this gift even better, give them a gift card. You can do a gift card tree with gift cards from their favorite restaurants and stores. This is the perfect gift as they will really have an all-expenses paid mommy day!

3. Homemade Greeting Cards or Hand Picked Cards

Sometimes, it's best to keep things simple. If you are picking out Mother’s Day gifts for kids, you don’t have to make things complicated. Have your kids pick out Mother’s Day cards. If you want to get extra creative make handmade greeting cards. We love arts and crafts from our kids and this can be a fun way to spend a day together with your kids! You can also pair a nice bouquet of flowers with your card!

4. Jewelry With Kids' Initials

We love jewelry, but it can be hard to pick out a piece of jewelry that is special enough for Mother’s day. If you need jewelry ideas for Mother’s Day, though, I have the perfect solution for you. Look for jewelry with their kid’s initials. This can be a heartfelt gift that we will cherish and love forever.

5. Cleaning Service or Help Around The House

There are a lot of great Mother’s Day gift ideas out there! A lot of bloggers and websites are listing practical items and other expensive gifts that moms might like. Something we will REALLY appreciate and enjoy is a day off from cleaning. We do so much around the house day in and day out.

If you can offer to clean during the week of Mother’s Day, this is something that we won’t forget. Kids can even pitch in with the cleaning too! Better yet, if you want to make us even happier, hire a professional cleaning service. Offer to take us out of the house for the day and come back to a cleaner home!

6. Chef For A Day

Along with cleaning many moms are taking care of meal preparation for the whole family. You can give us a break and be the personal chef for the day. Cook up some favorite meals and snacks and ask us what we want to eat for Mother’s Day.

Again, Mother’s Day gifts don’t have to be super extravagant or expensive to make us happy. We just want to know that we are loved and appreciated on this day! Acting as our chef will definitely make us feel special.

7. An Exciting Vacation

If you are willing to spend a lot of money for Mother’s Day, we won’t say no to a vacation. You can plan a vacation around Mother’s Day or surprise the mom in your life with an upcoming vacation. There are so many amazing destinations and locations you can bring moms to.

Do some research and ask about dream vacation spots. Then try to plan something out before Mother’s Day. This can be the ultimate present for us that work hard all year long!

8. Uninterrupted Sleep

Finally, this last Mother’s Day gift is simple but truly needed! We do everything and are always thinking about ways to care for us. Whether we are helping our kids find ways to succeed and be happy, or simply preparing our families for the day, we do so much for the people we love. Sometimes, it doesn’t take much to make us happy. We just want some time to catch up on sleep. So, let your mom sleep in and get the rest she needs for Mother’s Day before you shower her with your gifts and love!

Final Thoughts on Mother’s Day Gifts

Moms only deserve the best on Mother’s Day! You can help them understand just how appreciated and loved they are this year with well-thought-out gifts!

I listed some of my gift ideas moms actually want in 2023. Don’t think you are limited to these gifts alone. If you can think of anything else that the mothers in your life care about and would enjoy, make this a reality for them.

Mothers love it when you are being thoughtful. If they have mentioned a specific activity or gift idea, and you can give it to them on Mother’s Day, this will show them just how much you care!
