I’ve put together a detailed list of must-haves to ensure your child is prepared and excited for every occasion. Let’s dive in and get ahead of the game!
College Shirt
First up, the college shirt. Almost every school has a day dedicated to promoting college spirit. It’s a wonderful way to get kids thinking about their future and the possibilities that lie ahead. Whether it’s your alma mater or their dream school, having a college shirt ready is a great way to inspire and motivate them.
SportS Jersey 🏈
Sports jerseys are a staple for many school events, from supporting the school team to participating in spirit days. A football, basketball, or any favorite sport jersey can make your child feel part of the excitement. Not to mention, it’s a fun way to show some team spirit and get involved in school activities.
Grinch Shirt
What’s Christmas without the Grinch? Around the holidays, there’s bound to be a day dedicated to some type of festive attire. A Grinch shirt is perfect for spreading some holiday cheer with a bit of mischievous fun. It’s always a hit during the Christmas season and it adds a bit of humor to the festivities.
Western Outfit 🤠
Yeehaw! Western Day is a staple in many schools, celebrating all things cowboy and cowgirl. Make sure your child has a cowboy hat, plaid shirt, jeans, and maybe even some boots. It’s a fun day for them to embrace their inner cowboy or cowgirl and enjoy a little Wild West adventure.

Crazy Hair Accessories
Crazy Hair Day is always a favorite among kids. Don’t forget to stock up on colorful hair sprays, funky headbands, and wild accessories. The more outrageous, the better! This is a day for creativity and laughter, and the photos are always priceless.
School Appropriate PJs
Pajama Day is a cherished event where kids can come to school in their cozy sleepwear. Make sure your child has a comfortable and school-appropriate pajama set ready for this relaxing day. If your kids are anything like mine, they love wearing pj’s from 4 years ago LOL. Kids love this day because it’s a nice break from the usual routine and makes for a very comfy school day.
Solid Color Red Shirt (Red Ribbon Week, DARE)
Red Ribbon Week or DARE events often call for a red shirt to show support for these important initiatives. A solid color red shirt is simple yet effective in promoting awareness and participation in these events. It’s an easy way to support great causes and teach important lessons.
Hat Day🧢
A hat day is likely on the school calendar, so having a variety of hats like baseball hats, sun hats, or even a funny hat will keep your child ready for the occasion. Hats are fun and can really show off your child’s personality and interests.
Tie-Dye Shirt
Tie-dye shirts are perfect for 60s day or any fun, colorful event. You can even make it a DIY project with your child, creating a unique and vibrant shirt they’ll be proud to wear. It’s a fun way to add a splash of color to their wardrobe and participate in groovy school events.
Pink Out Shirt
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is in October. This often includes a Pink Out Day. Having a pink shirt ready will allow your child to participate and support a good cause. It’s a meaningful way to teach them about compassion and community support while having fun with their peers.

Christmas Shirt
Holiday spirit is abundant in schools, and a Christmas shirt is a must-have for all the festive activities and parties. Whether it’s a cute reindeer, Santa, or a fun holiday message, a Christmas shirt spreads cheer and gets everyone in the holiday mood.
Halloween Costume (School Appropriate)
A school-appropriate Halloween costume is essential for those spooky celebrations. Check the school’s guidelines to ensure your child’s costume meets the rules and is still fun. Halloween at school can be a blast, and a great costume makes it even better.
Crazy Socks
Crazy Sock Day is always fun! Stock up on some wild and colorful socks to let your child express their funky side. It’s a simple yet fun way to participate in school spirit days and show off their unique style.
100th Day of School
The 100th day of school is a big celebration in many elementary schools. Plan a special outfit or accessories that incorporate the number 100. It’s a milestone worth celebrating, and it’s fun to see all the creative ways kids and teachers mark the occasion.
Teacher Gifts (Per Teacher)
A small token of appreciation for your child’s teacher goes a long way. Consider gifts for the start of the year, holidays, and Teacher Appreciation Week. Personalized notes, small gifts, or even a simple thank you can make a huge difference and show your gratitude for their hard work.

Dr. Seuss Themed Outfit
Dr. Seuss Day is an opportunity for your child to dress up as their favorite Seuss character or simply wear something Seuss-themed. It’s all about celebrating reading and creativity, and it’s a day full of whimsy and fun.
Book Fair Money
Book fairs are a great opportunity to encourage reading. Set aside some money so your child can pick out a few new books. It’s an exciting event and a chance for them to discover new adventures and interests.
Yearbook Money
Don’t forget to set aside money for the yearbook. It’s a wonderful keepsake filled with memories of the school year. Your child will treasure it for years to come, looking back on all the friends and fun they had.

With this list, you’ll be well-prepared for all the fun and festivities the school year has to offer. From themed dress-up days to special events, having these items ready will save you from last-minute stress and make sure your child is always prepared and excited for what’s to come.
